02 · Measure
Four steps. About three minutes.
A soft tailor’s tape is easiest. A piece of non-stretch string and a ruler work too. Measure your bare wrist rather than a bracelet you already own.
- 01Wrap
Wrap a flexible tape around your bare wrist where you want the bracelet to sit. Keep the tape flat against the skin. - 02Settle
Let the tape touch the wrist without pulling or compressing the skin. If you are using string, mark the overlap. - 03Read
Read the circumference at the overlap, or lay your marked string against a ruler. Enter that exact number before adding ease. - 04Choose
Choose close, everyday, or relaxed. HELD adds the fit allowance; do not add it to your wrist measurement yourself.
03 · Fit
Choose how you want it to move.
Close · + 6.35 mm
Sits near the wrist with little travel. Choose this when you prefer the circle to stay in place, but never use it to correct an already-tight wrist measurement.
Everyday · + 12.7 mm
Our balanced starting point: enough ease for ordinary wrist movement without a pronounced drape.
Relaxed · + 19.05 mm
Leaves more space for the bracelet to move. Larger beads can still feel more present because their diameter reduces the usable inner circle.
04 · How it works
How the estimate works.
HELD first adds the selected ease to your wrist circumference. For a uniform strand, it then accounts for the space occupied by the bead radius around the inner circle. In compact form, the estimated strand path is:
Wrist + fit ease + π × bead diameter
Capacity is the whole number of uniform beads that fit along that path. The displayed range also tests a small bead-diameter variation of up to 0.25 mm, because nominal bead sizes are not perfectly identical.
Real designs mix axial widths: a flat spacer may occupy less strand than its face diameter, while pearls and handmade components vary. Findings, knots, elastic behaviour, and production tolerances also matter. Use the result as a planning estimate. The final count and fit depend on the exact beads, spacers, findings, and construction.
